About Us

CL College Consultants was founded by Erin Coulter and Magan Locey. We are two educators who believe that the most profound mark we can make on the world is to equip students with the knowledge and skills they need to thrive in our ever changing world. With this at the forefront of our minds, we founded CL College Consultants to help students and families navigate one of the most important journeys of their life. We look forward to assisting you and your student throughout the college admission process.

Erin Coulter, M. Ed., Licensed School Counselor

Erin Coulter has been an educator and a Licensed School Counselor since 2007. She has worked in two of the largest districts in the DFW area, Denton ISD and Frisco ISD, as a high school counselor. In her time as a high school counselor, Erin specialized in academic planning, four year plans, AP and Dual Credit, NCAA academic eligibility requirements, and College Career and Military Readiness. She has been recognized as a winner of her district's "Top 30" educators and selected as a “newcomer of the year.” In her current position, Erin serves as the College Career and Military Readiness Counselor and leads the CCMR department.  She established the Senior “Go Center” to assist seniors with their college applications.  She also implemented the College Bridge program, an exemption course for the TSIA2 exam used for freshman course placement at Texas 2-year and 4-year public universities. Erin earned her Bachelors of Arts at DePauw University where she played NCAA Field Hockey.  Erin earned her Masters of Education in School Counseling at Indiana University. 

Erin lives with her husband, Tanner and two sons, Cooper and Parker.  Their family also has two labradors Colby and Riley.  In her free time Erin loves to run and spend time watching her boys on the sports fields.  Erin is an active member of the National Association of College Admissions Counselors (NACAC), Texas School Counselors Association (TSCA) and Texas Association for College Admissions Counseling (TACAC).


Magan Locey, M. Ed.

Magan Locey has been an educator of secondary students for the past 14 years. She holds a Texas Educator Certificate in English Language Arts and Reading, Speech, English as a Second Language, and is a licensed Principal. She began her career as a speech and debate coach in Denton ISD where she led students to success in the University Interscholastic League and the Texas Forensics Association. As a school administrator for the past five years, Magan has worked with students at both the high school and middle school levels and specializes in curriculum and instruction in English Language Arts and Reading. Magan’s current campus is designated as a School to Watch by the National Forum to Accelerate Middle Grades Reform and specializes in advanced academics.

Magan lives with her husband, Justin and son, Meyer. In her free time, Magan loves to walk her chocolate Labrador, Duke and read. Magan is an active member of the Texas Association of Secondary School Principals (TASSP).
